At Telx, connecting networks is at our core. With our SAS 70 Type II-audited space, power and interconnection services, Service Providers have established multiple points of presence (POPs) in our 15 strategically located facilities across North America.

With new, high-bandwidth applications like HD video, mobile data, content delivery networks and telepresence filling up customer networks at a rapid rate, Service Providers have moved quickly to expand their Ethernet service portfolios to include Ethernet Private Line (EPL), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) and Ethernet LAN (E-LAN) products. In the process, they’ve encountered the challenges of interconnecting these networks.

To unlock the potential of these networks, Telx has upgraded our interconnection centers with a high density, carrier-grade Ethernet switching platform – based on Cisco Technology. Now, Service Providers can connect directly from their POP to the nearest Telx Ethernet Exchange in 100 megabit, 1 gigabit or 10 gigabit port sizes. Once the service is active, the exchange of traffic with other participating Carriers, Service Providers or Enterprise Customers is just a cross-connect away. That’s just the start. With a planned expansion to 21 US locations in multiple POPs in key metro locations, the Telx Ethernet Exchange offers the ability to extend the reach the most geographically remote networks.

In addition, these exchanges are all connected, giving Service Providers the ability to take a port on one switch and order services to any Telx | Neutral Tandem subscriber  or location.

Why Telx Ethernet Exchange:
